I was just wondering what are the minimum requirements for black belt in Kukkiwon style.
I know you do all 8 Taegeuk patterns plus Koryo, but what about the sparring? e.g. 1 step, 2 step or 3 step.
Also I believe 4 directional punching is only in ITF even though some WT schools use it as well.
Breaking and free sparring is also part of it but I was just wondering about the other stuff. ☺

8 Taegeuk patterns (Koryo is not required, although some countries require it, but not in Korea).

    Gyeorugi (free sparring).

    Gyeokpa (breaking).

The above are the absolute minimum. Most instructors also include Hoshinsul (Self defence) and Hanbon Kyorugi (One step).

However, the absolute minimum and the expected level are naturally worlds apart.

Thank you very much for your reply.
Yes, that's what I wanted to know.
I understand that most schools need more. (which is logical)

A short video of what our club members went through for their Dan gradings (just the training not the grade) It doesn't include the tears, and pain. Sorry its not in English but you will get the jist.

Yes, I don't need to speak Danish to understand the TKD training. ☺
