Kukkiwon TaeKwondo does not have this technique (I believe).

There is no chamber involved, stiff-legged all the way through ,and no hooking at the end. It is Jong-Soo Parks addition to ITF. We also have a spinning hook kick in ITF ofc

Now, is there any good reason to have a stiff legged spinning kick? Shane Fazen on Youtube claims that all it does is slow down the spin... Shane advocates bending in the wind-up always ,and hooking at the end.

Worked for Badr Hari (I don't think he knows it's from ITF Taekwondo, but he executed it perfectly.

No good reason to "stiff leg" it in either org. Straight leg maybe, but the disadvantages outweigh the advantages.

I meant straight leg. The kick is defined by being straight legged all the way. http://www.swanma.com/wp/tkd-volume-4/#70

Which you would know if you had beginners experience in ITF. ...

    Getting better already...

You know what I learnt from doing this technique in particular that you should pass on to your students? The more one thinks of executing each techniques from a neutral/upright stance, the easier it will be to assimilate it into proper form. The more you try to compensate for things by bending and leaning, the worse it will be and ingrain the technique henceforth.

Have you ever tried explaining it that way? It sounds completely obvious but some instructors focus almost exclusively on pivots, hips, foot control which is crucial, but they neglect the posture factor for the learning student, who might cheat the techniques with various leans and bends that are unwarranted.

I get that instructors want to be inclusive but it's better to put your foot down right away and not allow "cheats" in the learning process.

I have not have any private tutoring at all, just a change in my mind-set.

I seem to recall making these observations about your posture about a year or two ago...

And by the way you are generating no power from your upper body. It's not all leg.

This one is tough to rotate as one unit. I feel like I get stuck about 95% of the rotation. This is also why the hips aren't totally in line. Even if I tell myself to rotate more I still get stuck there.. It is very close though and still passable. But no need to settle for passable
