So I test for my fourth dan next Saturday, almost a year earlier then expected. I was expecting to test the summer after I turned 18, now I'm testing the winter before I'm 18.I was just wondering how many of you get nervous when you're approaching a big test? I seem to always do and I always have ever since I was little.

    4th dan at 18. Wow.
At that stage I quit getting nervous at test day.
I do get nervous when my students test for various dans though.

At this level, your promotion is more and more based on your accomplishments the years between the exam and less and less on what you do exam day.

Not anymore. The first few Keup gradings a bit, but once you know what to expect, you have to face the reality that too much nervousness prevents you from performing your best.

If you are ready, grading should be a formality from your perspective rather than a test.

I've got too many exams (not just TKD) up to a point where nervous is no longer there. Just like fighting or performing, the more often you encounter it, the more relax you become.
