Nice story. Our GM talks about the end goal of TKD is becoming a "necessity"
This is a clear cut example of that.
I'm sort of in two minds about this. On the one hand, what she's doing in Training and developing the survivor group is fantastic. On the other, I am not sure about the morality of using Taekwondo as a tool to evangelise. I guess it depends how it's presented, and I wouldn't ever take anything that they may feel they need away from these people. Live and let live, I guess.
I don't have a problem with it at all. As long as she is up front about what she does.
Taekwondo doesn't belong to any one religion, but my GM tells us that most of the GMs are Christian. Now maybe this is in the US primarily, I don't know.
I do know that our club was started in the basement of a church by my former master instructor who was a Methodist minister of some influence in the area.
